_________
This week, significant progress was made on both the inside and outside of the house. At the beginning of the week, all of the douglas fir siding was finished with a propane torch at the warehouse. On site, students recieved shipment of prefabricated metal components including an exterior stair and the home's louver system, which had been sent to Salina, KS to be galvanized. A steel frame was installed on the front of the porch and gutters went in on the North side of the house as well. Later in the week, siding also began to go up on the north side, while the first course of gypsum wall board was installed inside. Immediately following, students began blowing loose fill cellulose insulation into the wall cavities. The insulation was manufactured from recylcled newspapers at Central Fiber Corporation in Wellsville, KS.
