As we approach the half-way point of the semester, things are progressing rather quickly. Monday morning saw the completion of the basement slab. Throughout the rest of the week, students framed the first floor deck and prepared it to receive concrete the following Monday. In the meantime, more insulation has been added inside and outside of the basement walls per Passive House standards and the concrete countertops have been completed. A decision to precast all of the stair treads in concrete was also made this week. During the construction process, Studio 804 will also receive local student groups as another way to make the community a part of the project, some of which happened this week. Many neighbors have also stopped by to ask questions and share their excitement.
