As the weather seems to turn around for the better, Studio 804 pushes forward as quickly as possible. After installing the remaining under-slab insulation and a six-millimeter plastic air barrier, steel reinforcement will be laid for the basement slab. Students are poised to pour the basement slab first thing next week. In addition, all of the engineered lumber has been cut and organized into the floor frame and walls in hopes of expediting framing on site, which will commence next week as well. Other elements of the house that can be prefabricated in the warehouse continue to progress including the concrete countertops and the operable louver system to be installed on the exterior of the house.
