As of Monday morning, Studio 804 has officially broken ground on the Prescott Passive House.  Following a pleasant ground-breaking ceremony, there was no hesitation to get right down to business.  By Tuesday's end, form work for the foundation footings made a prompt appearance and concrete hit the ground by mid-day Wednesday.  The following morning, students met a pre-dawn truckload of insulated concrete forms for the basement walls; and by the end of a very long Thursday, assembled, braced and filled them with concrete just in time for a typical Kansas winter storm.  A couple of snow days will allow time to regroup and determine the next steps in the construction process which include insulating and pouring concrete for the basement floor and eventually framing the first floor, loft and roof of the house.
