Some of the wood was immediately reused to create formwork for our foundation wall footings. We went straight to work on collecting all of the necessary material and tools before we arrived at the site early on Friday morning. After a very exhausting day Friday, we now have the footings poured! Our plans had to be slightly adjusted when we hit bedrock during the excavation. We quickly resolved this issue by using step footings between the basement and garage, allowing our design to stay intact. We hope to pour the foundation walls later this week when the concrete for the footings cures to an acceptable level.
Due to our very busy but productive day we were unable to attend First Fridays in Kansas City, as we had planned. However, we anticipate attending next month.
