This week we were able to make a lot of progress towards the construction of our house. We started off the week by deconstructing a magazine building at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant. We were enthusiastic about the unique opportunity to be able to deconstruct an entire building and reuse the lumber. We organized ourselves to carefully take the trusses apart while removing the exterior cladding. It took us only three days to disassemble the building and transport all of the salvaged lumber to the warehouse. There still remains a lot of work to be done to prepare the wood for integration into our design for 3716 Springfield, including the removal of all of the nails and milling the wood.
