The framing for the first floor south walls have a very different condition because of the huge expanse of glass. The header was made up of several pieces of engineered lumber, put together to span over forty feet. Needless to say it was very heavy and took just about everyone to maneuver it. Because of the immense weight of the header, we needed the help of wall jacks to raise the wall and secure it in place. After the first floor was framed and sheathed, we started placing the second floor joist. Special attention was given to the master bedroom deck on the east end of the building to allow for water runoff.
