We stay busy interacting with consultants, subcontractors, and manufactures. We remain up to date on what is going on in the building industry and have daily interactions with vendors and sales representatives. Our correspondence with the city planning office, and code officials helps to expedite work on construction details. Everyday we make important decisions as a group to help guide our design process. Communication plays a vital role in our opportunity to learn, as well as the incorporation of our ideas into the project.
The house incorporates sustainable technologies that make it a prototype for the region. Our ambitions exceed requirements set forth by LEED for Homes and we are striving to accomplish Cascadia’s Living Building Challenge.
This week we have accomplished a major milestone by the purchase of our site. The site survey is currently underway, as we plan to start excavation as early as next week.
