Through the second week of January, we continue to work on the construction documents in order to obtain a building permit. We have developed details for the foundation, drainage, site work, and glazing schemes. In addition, we attended a safety training course hosted by personnel at Sunflower Ammunition Plant. This meeting was required of us in order to deconstruct the magazine building and we are looking forward to reconstituting the lumber during the last week of January.
The Rosedale nieghborhood in Kansas City offers an excellent location for us to showcase a residential prototype for sustainable architecture. The lot, located at 3716 Springfield is less than one block from the University of Kansas Medical Center, Rosedale Middle School and the Historic World War One Memorial Arch. Through the design of our environmentally conscious, modern home we aim to encourage redevelopment and natural neighborhood transitions in the community.
