After all the insulation was put in, drywall became the interior crew’s number one priority. After Temple-Inland arranged for the material to be dropped off, we got to work. Because most of the wall structure is on two foot centers, 5/8” sheetrock was installed almost everywhere. For our smooth gabled ceiling, the sheets were run parallel to the rafters to avoid any unnecessary butt-joints and to make taping and mudding a lot easier. Both corner and tear away bead were carefully applied for the trim detail. Every drywall seem was coated with joint compound three times, progressively obscuring the indention. Afterward, the material is lightly sanded smooth and then ready to paint.
