The exterior group began the daunting task of applying our vertical cumaru rain-screen.  This came after weeks of planning and the installation of the rain-screen’s structural support.  We treated each piece of the hardwood with penofin oil for UV protection.  Spacing is held uniform and consistent along each length with an innovative jig made from a speed square.  The wood itself came shorter than the height of our house, so each vertical run needed to be assembled to reach the desired length.  To disrupt the perception of any seems, the lengths of each piece are intentionally staggered throughout.
