The vertical steel battens, started last week, were completed and installed onto the side of our house. The finish used was a black DTM paint, designed to disguise the battens behind the screen and protect the steel from the wear and tear of time. Each batten was attached to a structural member of the house. Layout was taken on four foot centers, and they were installed to line up perfectly with the rake of the roof and the bottom of the house sheathing.
