A couple of rainy days in the beginning of the week kept most of us off site until Wednesday. However, as soon as we arrived, we quickly picked up from where we left off. With all of the second floor joists in place, we laid in the ¾” plywood for our second floor deck. The design of the house includes a two story atrium space on the west end. However, for safety and to help with the ease of construction, we needed to install a temporary floor deck over the area. After both the second floor and temporary deck were completed, we stood up the remainder of the second floor walls. We used the long lengths of wood reclaimed from Sunflower Ammunition Plant for bracing.
