Week eight saw the completion of many aspects of our sustainable prototype in preparation for the weeks ahead.  After passing our rough structural inspection, we were able to complete our rough electrical work, roof decking, exterior wall sheathing, skylight rough openings, application of our vapor barrier, and frame our interior walls.  We are now able to begin our interior finish work. 

As far as material arrivals, we received our USG drywall, Con-Tech interior lighting elements, and Polygal shipments.  GreenPoint, a recycling processing center in Topeka, brought us a large recycle container for all of our excess building materials to be gathered. This is just one of the many ways we are fulfilling our LEED credits, as we are planning on recycling 95% of our material waste.  

In addition, progress continued in Greensburg this week, as our basement foundation walls have been poured and are now eagerly awaiting our arrival.  We have two weeks remaining in our Lawrence warehouse to complete what prefabrication work we can.  Then, it is off to Greensburg for almost two months of on-site work, including landscaping, exterior skin application, positioning of our active systems (PV panels, wind turbines, and geothermal energy), and placement of our green roof blocks.
