We finished the entire structural shell of our building during week seven. After framing and standing up the walls, we were able to move right along and position our open web roof joists accordingly. After cutting 2x6s diagonally in half, we set these atop each roof joist, allowing our roof to have a quarter-inch per foot slant for water drainage. Once we made sure everything else was accurate, we began the process of applying sheathing. We simultaneously applied the OSB exterior wall sheathing and roof decking. During this week, we also finished sealing all of the Sunflower material that we plan to use as part of our exterior skin. As far as material arrivals, we received our EPDM roofing membrane, Velux skylights, and VaproShield vapor barrier. We are now in a position to begin the process of attaching our rough electrical elements and vapor barrier, as well as construct our interior walls. In Greensburg, our site has been excavated and the footings have been set. This week will begin the pouring of our foundation walls in preparation of our arrival next month.
