On December 17, the Greensburg City Council passed a resolution requiring all publicly funded City buildings to be built to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum level of certification and reduce energy consumption by 42 percent over the standard building. By adhering to LEED Platinum requirements, these buildings will teach the community and visitors about the systems used to create highly sustainable buildings. By setting this example, Greensburg is leading its residents, business owners, and all of rural America in sustainable design. Studio 804 feels strongly about supporting this decision by providing an example of the sustainable practices that can make this resolution a reality.

The Comprehensive Master Plan, developed by BNIM architects along with community members of Greensburg, serves as the vision for both redevelopment and future development in the city. It is the responsibility of all involved to ensure that future projects are consistent with the intent of the Master Plan.
